On the July 25^th to 27^th of 2019 the Southern Asia Pacific Division of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has had been conducted a Division-wide Secretariat Retreat and Convention in hotel CINTARA GRAND AT CENTRAL WORLD, Bangkok, Thailand.

The Executive Secretary of Myanmar Union Mission (MYUM) Pr. Kelly P. Lyan and the Secretary to Executive Secretary Susie Sein, the Executive Secretary of Ayeyarwady Mission Pr. Thang Lam Mung and the Secretary to Secretary Thant Yee Mon, The Executive Secretary of Central Myanmar Mission Pr. Hla Kun and the secretary Secretary Tin Thandar Tun, the Executive Secretary of Southeast Myanmar Mission Pr. Shwe Thet Oo and the Secretary to Secretary Nu Yin Aye, the Executive Secretary of Upper Myanmar Mission Pr. Rozama and the Secretary to Secertary Sainuntluangi, and the Executive Secretary of Yangon Mission Pr. Khin Maung Yin and Secretary to Secretary Eh Paw Wah were attending the Division-wide Retreat and Convention, and were enjoyed  the heaven bond fellowship with the World Church leaders, Division leaders, and fellow Union/Mission leaders within the  Division, and nourished with spiritual blessings and new insight in secretariat role.

To the praise of God’s grace, the Myanmar Union Mission was granted the Division Cooperative Union Performance Achievement Award in Second Place. Praise God for His kind guidance in His ministry.

ASI officers
and their members are very active to promote and to implement ASI activities
and project in Myanmar Union Mission. Therefore they conducted a fellowship
meeting and banquet at Panda hotel in Yangon on June 27, 2019. In the meeting, Pastor
Kelly P lyan, MYUM secretary give a short talk and appreciation to the former
ASI president and his colleagues. Mr. Thang Kang Lo, the MYUM ASI coordinator
introduced newly elected ASI president Mr. Htay Min Tun and his colleagues to
MYUM officers, department directors and ASI members. ASI president has
mentioned his plan and activities to the audience how he and his team will try
their best to promote ASI activities here in Myanmar Union Mission. After
taking group photo a delicious ASI banquet was started as a token of
appreciation to the audience.

The English Proficiency Workshop was led by Education
Department of Southern Asia Pacific Division and Myanmar Union Mission in
Yangon Adventist Seminary (YAS) on April 2 to May 9, 2019. Mr. Nitchelson Ray
De Guzman, an English instructor from the Northern Philippine Adventist
College, was invited to train the workshop. There were 140 teachers from the
Myanmar Union mission schools attended the workshop. In the workshop, the
teachers learned English language skills: reading, writing and speaking by
games, lecture, songs, stories, group and individual assignments. The workshop
was conducted for the teachers who are not able to use the English language
with students in the classroom in MYUM schools. The MYUM education department expects
that within 5 years all the students and teachers from Adventist schools in
Myanmar Union mission will be applying properly English language in the
classrooms.  Sayama Nant Than Than Aye
from Ayarwaddy Adventist Seminary said, “I am very happy and improve a lot of
English language skills and have learned how to teach English language in the
classroom by this English Proficiency Workshop”.
