Saw Timothy Muna Paul

His name is Saw Timothy Muna Paul.   He was born and brought to this world on February 14, 1958 at the Quarter of Myo Gyi in Toungoo city by the father U Smile and the mother Daw Mya Yin.  Among eight siblings, he is the second youngest of them.  His brothers and sisters are Saw Montana Paul, Naw Say He, Saw Eh Gaw, Pa Saw Htee, Bo Bo Gyi, Naw Khu Htee, Saw Timothy Muna Paul, Lucrecia.  He is proud to be the grandson of Saya Paul who was the first pioneer of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Toungoo. 

His early education began in 1963 by attending KGC and B at state (5) Secondary High School no. (5) in Toungoo.  In 1965, he attended primary school in Kyauk Taing village till 1968.  Then continued Middle High School Classes in 1968-1970 at No (5) State High School, Toungoo.  Then he stopped attending school for three years, and in 1974, he continued his education again by joining grade seven in Siyin village school, Gyothonebin, Sagaing Division.  In 1975, he studied in grade 8 in Hpa-an, then grade 9-10 in 1975-77 in Myaungmya, and continued the ministerial training degree (Junior college), which is three years courses, in the same place Myaungmya in 1978-82.  He chose and married to his spouse Cho Cho David on March 10, 1983.  In the same year of his marriage, he was called to serve as a minister in Yay Lel Gyi Village, Ngathinechaung  township, Ayeyarwaddy Division.  After six months period of serving in that area, his spouse got sickness infected with malaria fatal disease.  So she was admitted to hospital.  Then he was moved to Taung Baw Su village in Myaungmya district in 1984, and from there to Pyingadoe Taung as a church pastor from 1986 to 1989, serving four years period of time.  He was called again for the second time to serve at Taung Baw Su church as a minister and church pastor from 1989 to 1991. In the year of 1992, the ministerial training school was changed to Seminary College and he joined college to upgrade his education level for Bachelor of Religion, and he received BA Religion in 1993.  After graduation from college, he served as Boys’ Hostel Dean and Teacher for Ayeyarwady Secondary School from 1994 to September 1995.  In order to improve his education in Biblical knowledge, together with his family, he went to Spicer Memorial College in India in October 1995, and received Master Degree in Religion in 1999.  After returning back from Spicer College, he was chosen to serve as a frontline missionary worker at Natthankwin, Kyauk Kyee District in Bago Division for one year in 2000.  As taking more responsibilities is his delight in God’s service, he accepted the call to Mountain View Adventist Seminary High School in 2001, to serve as a Boys’ Hostel Dean for one year, and in 2002 as a Principal for that seminary for another year.  Then he was again appointed to serve as a Boys’ Hostel Dean of Myaungmya Adventist Seminary from 2003 to 2005.  Then promoted to Ayeyarwady Mission Secretary in 2006 for one and half years period and moved to Central Myanmar Mission in June 2007, to serve as a Mission President, from 2007 to 2010. Then, he was chosen as Mission President for Upper Myanmar Mission from 2011 to June 2015.  Finally he was elected as Union President in 2015 and had a God-given privilege of serving the ministries till 2021.

He is blessed with one daughter, twin sons and two grandchildren: children are Sharon Haymoo Paul, Michael Paul and Matthew Paul; whereas two grandchildren are Aiden, grandson, Shiva, granddaughter. Though he feels that is not worthy to serve in His ministries, he accepted God’s call and could reach out, as much as he can, to the people who are really in need of God’s love, and God is with him throughout His ministries and he is very much happy to be His servant.  He received many blessings while serving Him.  May God’s name be glorified and be praised forever!
